We just recently wrapped a PSA for the upcoming Census for Santa Clara County. The theme of the spot was “Be Counted!” and each individual or group that came in to read the script gave us multiple versions of “Be Counted!” in English and in their native tongue. With the ethnic diversity of Santa Clara, we had so many different languages spoken, including Vietnamese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Spanish, Hindi, Russian and Korean. The major concern the PSA wanted to address was that people who were not citizens of the United States still felt safe to fill out their census. Santa Clara County’s goal is to get as much funding as they can based on the amount of people living in the County and they don’t want fear to drive people from not filling it out.
