24 Years and Counting

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

Not only is Julie one of my coworkers, she’s also my aunt and she has been working for Tam as long as I can remember. She started in 1987, just eight years after the company was formed. Her role in the company has changed many times over the years and today she heads up the finance and administration portion of the company. Julie has witnessed how the company has grown over the years and then returned to a small and dedicated group of quality team members. She is someone I can count on when I need questions answered or support in dealing with an unfamiliar customer service situation. Julie is definitely an integral part of the Tam team and I love that our family gets to work together on a daily basis. When asked why she likes working for Tam, she got right to the point, “I understand the job and I like the hours.”

Giovana, an AWESOME Intern

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

This last Spring we hired on Giovana as a marketing intern but she became more than that during her time at Tam. When she joined us we had just started planning for the Boardwalk Flash Mob. She had expressed that she loved event coordination and it truly felt like one of those moments where the stars aligned. Giovana came in and was an invaluable member of the Tam Flash Mob team, she brought in her dedication, hard work and marketing knowledge to help behind-the-scenes to get the word out, organize practices, dancers and us. She also gained experience with the innerworkings of a multi-media production company, going on production with us for Aloha Summer and coordinating auditions for Roaring Camp Railroads. Giovana’s time at Tam was too short and we will miss definitely miss having her wonderful presence at Tam. We wish her luck in her summer program at Stanford and her career beyond that.

It’s Jill, no Mojo, no Jill…

The latest addition to the Tam Communications team is none other than Jill Combs but she goes by another name to me…she’s Mojo Vixen, #20 on the Santa Cruz Derby Girls. Jill and I met while skating with the league and when we had a new position open up, she was just the person to fill the role. It’s great to be able to work with someone whom you’ve met in another avenue and know their personality, work ethics and interests. It really makes the transition of the “new employee” so much easier. Jill and I work really great as, Mojo and Shamrock, in the league and this relationship has crossed over well into business. She is an integral part of the Tam team and we are so happy to have her.

Rockin it with Shammy

Shamrock N. Roller, AKA Regan Eymann

Shamrock N. Roller, #8 on Santa Cruz Derby Girl

As many people know, Tam Producer, Regan Eymann, has an alter ego. When she laces up her skates and hits (literally) the track, she’s known as “Shamrock N. Roller” on the Santa Cruz Derby Girls. She’s an amazing blocker who week after week would sacrifice her body for the team. She’s taking this year off from skating and concentrating on coaching as baby Shammy will make his or her entry into the world in August but this month she’s the Santa Cruz Derby Girl of the month. Check it out here: on the SCDG website, which, BTW, she and our web developer partner Dewdrop Media designed.
