During the time we were wrapping our recruiting video for the United States Coast Guard Academy, we were contracted to produce a commercial for them to air on the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Network. Part of the drive for the recruiting video we were completing for the school was focused on increasing minority interest and ultimately attendance at the Academy. Since we had captured so much footage including cadets of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, we certainly had the footage to do the job. The spot, called “More to Gain,” and BET was the perfect combination to reach their target audience, evaluating college options.
With the footage we had shot over the course of a year, Tam was able to cut together a high quality, 15-second spot depicting the ethnic diversity at USCGA in various settings typical of a day in the life of the Academy—from classroom to lab, sporting event to campus activities.
