The Coast Guard Channel website launched in 2007 as the first-ever news and entertainment site about the United States Coast Guard. We added an on-line store via ZenCart selling DVD’s from programs that we had produced for major cable networks along with Coast Guard centric merchandise. The idea grew and evolved over the years, adding social media elements to now include a Facebook page; an extremely active community site (housed on NING); an email-subscription list—averaging 10,000 friends/fans/subscribers each; and a YouTube Channel with over three million views.
